MAINTENANCE AND MANUFACTURING

Maintenance

Kempe Engineering has grown to become one of the largest global providers of maintenance services to clients in the aluminium smelting industry, with expanding services to clients in the mining, power generation, oil & gas and other industry sectors.

Strong engineering and project resources support our maintenance teams that have a range of skilled personnel including:

Our maintenance operations deliver services through either purpose-built maintenance facilities strategically located in close proximity to our clients’ operations or as integrated teams within our clients’ operations.

Our maintenance teams are supported by Kempe Engineering’s team of engineers, equipment and technology specialists to deliver:

Manufacturing

Kempe Engineering has over a number of years developed seven in-house manufacturing facilities, four of which are located within Australia and one each in Southern Africa, the United Arab Emirates and China.

We have developed the expertise and capacity to manufacture a broad range of products including:

• Automated mechanical plant and machines
• Specialised process equipment
• Materials handling equipment
• Conveyor systems
• Industrial brake systems
• Fluid power systems
• Instrumentation systems and modular skids
• Structural and plate packages
• Pressure vessels
• Piping spools and assemblies

• Electrical swtichboards and Motor Control Centres (MCC)

We have the ability to preassemble production modules for client Factory Acceptance and Testing (FAT), to reduce site installation and commissioning costs.

Centres of Excellence

Kempe Engineering has established a number of “Centres of Excellence” to enhance the manufacturing services we provide our clients, in particular to value engineer our production to achieve a competitive outcome.

These facilities have been resourced with the appropriately skilled personnel, plant and equipment in the following locations:

Kempe Engineering, Geelong, Victoria, Australia (Precision Manufacturing)

Our Geelong manufacturing facility has both the engineering and trades personnel to provide quality precision product outcomes. This is supported by management’s continued improvement strategy, which includes the acquisition of the latest machining and production equipment.

Kempe Engineering, Wuxi, China (Machine & Fabrication Package Manufacture)

Our Wuxi manufacturing operation consists of several purpose built factories with more than 15,000m² under cover factory with 15 overhead cranes. We have all the key elements of an end to end manufacturing process from raw material processing through to Factory Acceptance and Testing (FAT) of machines and process modules.

We have embedded Australian management working with our team of local employees to collectively produce a quality outcome for our clients.

Kempe Process Equipment, Mt Waverley, Vic (Fluid Power)

As part of our Process Equipment business stream we have developed a facility that houses our fluid power engineering team, who are supported by our Geelong based fluid power specialists, which provides the technology and design innovations to manufacture quality systems.

Kempe Linkweld Engineering, Perth, WA (Specialist Pipe Spools, Structures & Welding Services)

Kempe Linkweld Engineering has extensive experience manufacturing pipe spools and specialist fabrications for the oil & gas industry, including subsea and process facilities, manufactured under a Quality Management System with accreditation to ISO 9001:2008 and weld procedures including:

• 145 x Piping procedures
• 40 x Structural procedures
• 5 x Pressure vessel procedures

In addition we have access to the Australian Marine Complex in Henderson, for the fabrication of large structures including “modular units” that can be directly transferred to barge transport.

Kempe Swispec, Bunbury, WA (Electrical & Instrumentation Packages)

Kempe Swispec Engineering has a vertically integrated capability to supply electrical and instrumentation packages. Our focus is to deliver quality, reliable and innovative turnkey solutions across a wide range of industry sectors.

Our team of professional electrical engineers, experienced electricians, hands-on project coordinators and product procurement specialists offer a wide range of product and plant support services to our clients including:

• Electrical engineering services from concept, front end design and detail drafting services through to project management and commissioning
• Manufacture and factory commissioning of electrical modules and systems
• Site installation and commissioning of electrical infrastructure, control systems, cable and wiring
• Maintenance services
